economy lots. Plenty of accessible parking spaces are marked and available in every lot at DSM. Unfortunately, there are no charging bays for electric vehicles, nor is there valet parking available at DSM.

Another excellent option would be the Baymont by Wyndham Des Moines Airport. Earning itself a 9.2 “Superb” rating from hotels.com, the Wyndham is 2.8 miles from DSM. Along with free continental breakfast, you’ll also enjoy free WiFi as well as free parking. The Wyndham also offers a complimentary shuttle to and from DSM, and up to 3 children 15 years and younger stay free. The Wyndham, however, is not pet friendly.
We also recommend the Hampton Inn & Suites Des Moines Downtown, which has an 8.8 “Fabulous” rating on hotels.com. This hotel is 3.9 miles from DSM and offers free on-the-go breakfast as well as free WiFi. The Hampton is proud to accept pets (cats and dogs only, 2 per room, only up to 50 lbs). Up to three children 21 years and younger stay free when occupying the same space as parents or guardians.
Finally, we recommend one of the closest hotels to DSM, the Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Des Moines Airport. With an 8.2 “Very Good” rating from hotels.com, this hotel is a mere 0.5 miles away from the airport and offers free continental breakfast, free WiFi, and free parking. Complimentary shuttle services are also available to and from DSM. However, the Days Inn is not pet friendly. One child may stay free when staying with a parent or guardian.

If you’re hungry for fabulous food, there are a few excellent restaurants in the Des Moines area. We recommend the Harbinger, which has world-class Chef Joe Tripp at the helm. This chef has earned himself five James Beard nominations over the years for Best Chef Midwest. His menu consists of fantastic vegetarian fare and fried chicken, pork belly, Japanese beef meatball, dumplings, and more. Reservations can be made by phone or online.
We also recommend RoCa, short for Restaurant on Court Avenue. This restaurant was picked as an Open Table Top 100 Hottest Restaurants in America, whose full list is featured in Forbes Magazine. RoCa has menus for both food and cocktails. Their menu offers smoked mac & cheese, charcuterie boards, seared scallops, sliders, grilled salmon, and Chicken Marsala. There is something for everyone here; even the pickiest eater can find something they like.
If you want a fat, juicy steak, be sure to stop at 801 Chop House. This restaurant was named one of the top 50 restaurants in Des Moines by the Des Moines Register and offers ambiance and fantastic food. They cook only the finest USDA Prime steaks only and are available for private or semi-private dining should you so choose. Reservations can be made over the phone or online. Their menu doesn’t only include fine cuts of beef, but also lobster, shrimp, oysters, salads, and lamb. If you’re in the mood for some surf and turf, you do not want to miss the 801 Chop House.
